Gameplay in Brief:

In the main game (three are included), players race to form as many words as possible in 75 seconds, sliding the innovative electronic Scrabble Flash blocks into position. The letters on the five blocks change each game, and by using "SmartLink" technology, the blocks recognize when a word has been formed, beeping and flashing.

The blocks also keep the time and score, telling players at the end of each round how many words they formed and how many were possible. The technology used in this word game is exciting, both for the way it is used here and for future possibilities in other games.

The Basics:

For 1 or more players, ages 8 and up.

Publisher:

Scrabble Flash is published by Hasbro. It was released in fall 2010.

Genre:

Scrabble Flash is an electronic word game.

Also Known As:

Outside the United States and Canada, Scrabble Flash is known as Boggle Flash.

More About Scrabble Flash:

Three games can be played with the Scrabble Flash cubes.

  • In "Flash," players try to find as many three- to five-letter words as possible using the letters shown on the tiles. Five seconds are added to the play clock for every five-letter word formed.
  • "Five Letter Flash" has players rushing to find the one five-letter word that uses the letters shown on the tiles. The game continues if the correct word is unscrambled.
  • "Pass Flash" challenges players to take turns forming five-letter words.
